C-Quest Capital LLC (CQC) is a social impact project developer whose purpose is to transform the lives of families in poor communities around the world. We do this by providing access to sustainable energy services and clean energy technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat global climate change, and improve the health of those in need. CQC was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Washington D.C., USA, with subsidiaries in India, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia and on-ground teams in Malawi and Zambia.
We develop high impact carbon finance projects under three operational platforms: Cleaner Cooking, Efficient Lighting and Sustainable Energy. We develop and implement our Transformation Carbon projects directly with our own subsidiaries or through our diverse array of field-based partners for maximum investment impact.
CQC has active carbon project operations in over 13 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, and South and Southeast Asia that have improved the lives of over 20 million people. We are helping to close the energy gap globally to provide the best investment we can make for a healthier humanity and healthier planet.
Chief Executive Officer
Ken has over 40 years of experience in developing financially viable, sustainable energy and forestry projects in developing countries. At the World Bank he initiated and led the first global carbon fund, the Prototype Carbon Fund, and managed the growth of the World Bank’s carbon finance business to eight carbon funds and over a billion dollars. He left the World Bank in 2005 and joined management teams at Climate Change Capital in London and Goldman Sachs in New York before accepting the role of building C-Quest Capital as CEO in .
Chief Investment Officer
As an entrepreneur, investor, advisor, and board member, Mark has been a leader in the development and financing of renewable energy, carbon, and clean technologies for over 25 years. He has founded and led two specialist investment banking firms focused on the low carbon economy and clean tech transactions with total capital deployed of over $5 billion. Mark has also acted as a non-executive board member for a dozen companies and has been a member of half a dozen investment committees for clean energy infrastructure and technology funds.
Chief Financial Officer
Richard has over 20 years of experience as a finance executive. As CFO, Richard is responsible for managing the finance and accounting functions for the companies CQC partners with. Prior to this role, Richard served as the CFO for Revolution Energy Solutions, a company focused on the production of renewable energy and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through projects that operate on agricultural platforms throughout the U.S.
Chief Operating Officer
As COO, Jason primarily oversees CQC’s investment operations in clean cooking, biomass fuels and efficient lighting. He is a clean energy program manager with 20 years of experience working on energy teams at the World Bank, International Resources Group (IRG), and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (Cambodia) and demonstrated expertise in climate finance and rural energy program development.
Senior Sales and Marketing Advisor
Isabel has more than 15 years of experience in the carbon finance business: developing, establishing and managing carbon funds, monitoring carbon emission reductions projects and organizing and managing carbon asset transactions. She gained experience working as a Carbon Funds Coordinator at the World Bank’s Carbon Finance Business and then as Carbon Operations Portfolio Officer at Natsource LLC. On December 2008, Isabel joined CQC, responsible for client relations and sales of carbon assets.
Max is a Chambers-rated environmental and corporate lawyer and policy advisor assisting clients with environmental and energy transactions and policy matters across a range of sectors, including energy generation and infrastructure, carbon markets, industrial and manufacturing, biofuels, oil and gas, green finance, and clean-tech. He is a graduate of Yale University and received his J.D. and Masters degrees from Vermont Law School specializing in environmental law and policy.
Junior Legal Counsel
Ryan works with CQC in their D.C. office on legal and operational matters, putting to use his interests in environmental markets and conservation. Ryan has an M.A. in Environmental Policy from Cambridge University and a J.D. from Vermont Law School, where he practiced in the school’s environmental legal clinic.
Director of Operations - Africa
Brent oversees field operations and partner relationships for Sub-Saharan Africa. He has over 8 years of experience working in both the engineering and energy sectors. Prior to joining CQC, he served as a Food Security and Environmental Extension Agent in Peace Corps Zambia focused on reducing deforestation, food insecurity, and mitigating vulnerability to climate change. Brent has a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from University of Florida.
Senior Operations & Health Specialist -Africa
Alena manages health initiatives and operations in Malawi. Prior to joining CQC, she served in Malawi with the Peace Corps as a Community Health Specialist volunteer focused on HIV/AIDS education and programming. Alena has an Masters in Psychology from Tufts University and a Bachelors from the University of Florida in Health Education and Behavior.
Senior Operations Specialist - Africa
Sarah leads sustainable development and research initiatives while supporting program implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has over 8 years of experience in programming, policy, and evaluation from time at the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and Peace Corps The Gambia, where her service focused on food security and empowering women’s abilities to mitigate climate shocks. Sarah has a M.A. in Food and Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies.
Senior Operations Advisor - CQC Malawi
Onyx is an expert in modern construction techniques of improved cookstoves for rural communities across Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a certificate in health and climate change obtained from Yale University and a degree in business administration. He is responsible for training of trainers (ToT) in improved cookstoves, field reporting, and coordinates stove programs in Sub-Saharan African countries where is CQC is operating.
Audits Manager - CQC Malawi
Glyness manages post-installation spot-checks on CQC’s directly managed cookstove projects and those of our implementation partners as well as supervises our Stove Champions program. Our growing team of Stove Champions visit each stove within their assigned project geography twice a year to report independently on stove existence, use, and maintenance.
Ang Kong Nian
Senior Carbon Finance Specialist & Director CQC Malaysia
Ang has over 10 years of experience in developing and managing CDM projects. He is a CDM technical specialist with strong knowledge of the entire project cycle from origination and feasibility studies to carbon credit issuance. At CQC, Ang prepares CDM-related documents and provides CDM-related expertise on project design and implementation of projects to comply with the requirements set forth by the CDM Executive Board.
Chief Operating Officer - CQC India
Siddhartha has nearly 15 years of experience in a variety of sectors including the automobile industry, banking, and now, carbon finance. As part of the CQC India team, he manages the day-to-day operations for our CDM energy-efficient lighting project. He also supports operations of CQC’s improved cookstoves projects in Nigeria and Zambia. He has a degree in business management from the Indian School of Business and a degree in Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University.
Tridip Kumar Goswami
Head of Compliance - CQC India
Tridip has nearly 15 years of work experience in the field of climate change and renewable energy. Prior to joining CQC, he worked as a Technical Team Leader and Business Development manager in verification firms TUV Rhineland and SGS India Pvt Ltd in their respective climate change business units. At CQC, he is accountable for all Programme of Activities compliance matters, inside and outside India.
Managing Director - CQC Cambodia
Reaksmey heads up CQC's day-to-day operations in Cambodia and leads our business development in the SE Asia region. He has a strong financial markets background with most of his career in the banking and financial sector with companies like ANZ Royal(2008-2016), where he was Interim Head of Global Markets and Senior Manager, responsible for balance sheet and portfolio management; sales and marketing of derivatives products i.e. foreign exchange, interest rates and commodities to companies in Cambodia.
Pooja holds a Master’s degree in Environment Management (Forest Research Institute, Dehradun) and an M.Tech degree in Environmental Science and Engineering (BIT, Mesra) with focus on Climate change and Eco-Restoration. Pooja has been with CQC since 2017. As a compliance specialist she is responsible for, end to end development of emission reduction projects in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), the Voluntary Carbon Market and other climate and development interventions.
Vinit Kumar Garg
Vinit has experience of more than fifteen years in his career of Climate Change and Renewable energy along with the experience in power distribution sector. Prior to joining CQC, he worked as GHG auditor in organisations like SGS India Pvt. Ltd. and TUV Nord. He has experience of validating and verifying more than 40 projects under various GHG mechanisms like CDM, VCS and Gold Standard. At CQC, he is accountable for all Programme of Activities compliance matters, inside and outside India.
Operations Advisor - CQC Zambia
Chrispine has nearly 20 years of experience in working with NGOs in Zambia. He worked as a translator for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), Center for Infectious Disease and Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), Zambia Emory HIV Research Program (ZEHRP), and many more. Prior to joining CQC, he worked for the U.S. Peace Corps as a Language and Cultural Facilitator. At CQC, he leads the in-country team and assists all implementing partners to achieve success.
