The project will be developed under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and The Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta).
These Projects aim to achieve sustainable development goals, by installing improved cookstoves (ICS) in households across Northern India. The project cookstoves have proven capacity to reduce fuel consumption and significantly reduce smoke by optimizing the combustion process while avoiding unnecessary heat loss. With the foresight of sustainable development, the proposed Projects are expected to accelerate the shift from inefficient three-stone fire to more efficient cookstoves, resulting in not only emission reduction but also an improvement in the quality of life of millions of women and girls. Carbon Finance will be used to increase the feasibility as well as scale-up of this project as it will help in increasing the acceptability and adoption of Improved Cookstoves.
