Cleaner Cooking in Kenya - C-Quest Capital

Although Kenya is an epicenter for improved cookstoves, these technologies have mostly been for charcoal servicing urban and peri-urban households. The great majority of rural households are still using polluting, inefficient open fires, in poorly ventilated kitchens. CQC has sought to remedy this situation by joining with Mwangaza Light, a local renewable energy company, to introduce the TLC-CQC stove in rural Kenya. This began in November with a 100-stove pilot in two locations now under verification for initial CER issuance. By Q3 we hope to take this program to scale with Mwangaza and their Green Churches movement, and with several other partners. Government approval has been obtained for this rural stove program.

C-Quest Welcomes Chief Carbon Officer

C-Quest Capital LLC announced that Dr. Donee Alexander, former Chief Science and Learning Officer at the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA), will join the company as Chief Carbon Officer, effective 5 August 2024.

In Memorial: Ruth Mbete

Ruth Mbete joined C-Quest Capital as a stove installer back in December 2021. Due to her zeal, commitment, and appreciation for how the rural stove program would change the lives of her community, Ruth was elevated to location coordinator, where she led a team of fifteen installers.
