At the end of October, CQC reached a milestone 3 million LEDs distributed to rural low income families in Assam, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh. Despite COVID 19 we are on track to complete the 4.5 million LED distribution program named Project Shine by mid January 2021. More than one million families will benefit from this project which is funded by Korean investors through the forward sale of carbon credits in the Korean Compliance market. CQC has reached agreement with the Energy Efficiency Supply Limited (EESL), an Indian Government owned entity to expand efforts to supply LEDs to the rural poor on a subsidized basis using carbon finance. Government is planning an initial 10 m LED distribution program under CQCs supervision from December this year with a view to achieving a target of 300 million LEDs.
